MEDIA FILM SERVICE

Media Film Service, an Arri product driven company, has been providing the South African and international film & TV industry with world-class equipment and killer service since March 2000. What began as a small camera and grips rental house, has grown to include 4 branches across South Africa and Mauritius. The company’s strict business ethic is to unfailingly provide the best service, best equipment, best team.

Media Film Service rents out an extensive range of Film and Digital camera equipment, grips, lighting and aerial gear and stocks Kodak film stock, solid state storage devices and consumable for sale and offers a maintenance and repair facility. Our Media Film Service rate card is here.

Cameras: EX1, EX3, F900R, Arricam, D21, 435, Aaton, Red, Phantom Gold, 416, Tornado, etc.

Grips: Technocrane, Chapman dollies, MiniSkater, Remote heads. A full range of grip equipment, tracks, fluid heads, geared heads, mini jibs, grip accessories, grip boxes and grip box accessories.

Lighting: A full range of Arri lighting – Daylight, tungsten and fluorescent lampheads. Panel lights, LED Lights. All distribution and lighting grip equipment is also available.

Generators: A wide range of generators from portable 3KVA up to 180 KVA vehicle-mounted silent generators including 4×4.

Aerials: Tyler nose and side mounts as well as the Mini Gyro.

Aeroplane: Media’s Cessna 210, 6-seater aeroplane is used extensively to support film shoots in remote areas such as Namibia and central South Africa. The plane is used to deliver Kodak film stock and equipment as well as support technicians. It can also be used for location scouting and production support.

Film stock: Media Film Service provides all the current lines in Kodak colour negative. Kodak is available 24/7 from any of the branches in SA. Stock is often delivered to far-off and remote places, x-ray free with the company aeroplane.

Consumables: A full range of consumables and support material is available from Media, such as Gaffer tape, Dust-Off, stationery, neg books, etc.

Under water gear: Special under water lighting and camera equipment can be rented from Media, including the first ever underwater housing for the digital cameras, Red and Tornado in SA!
