Spain take it!

12 Jul

On a superb night in front of nearly 90 000 fans at Soccer City, the impressive Spaniards took the spoils. A hard and fast final saw a record number of cautions dished out by referee Howard Webb, and was unable to produce a goal in normal time. Just as spectators were readying themselves for a nail-biting penalty shootout, Andres Iniesta, the Spanish wizard in midfield, blasted the infamous Jabulani into the back of the Dutch net.

This brought to an end what was a superb 2010 World Cup in South Africa. We all look forward to Brazil in 2014, but it will be a long time until Africa’s first is forgotten all over the world.
